Life and business present a litany of frequent challenges.

Your emotions can run rampant and derail you. Conversely, emotions can rally and assist you to take positive action!

How can you manage the following emotions better so that they more often assist rather than control your psyche and outcomes? Consider these tips for controlling your emotions:

Energy: Pace yourself, eat well, avoid emotional vampires.

Movement: Stand up and walk around throughout the day; don’t stay stagnant.

Outlook: Meditate, write daily gratitude list, smile more – anything to keep a positive attitude.

Thinking: Focus on solutions, give the benefit of the doubt, take a breath and think things through before reacting.

Intuition: Tune into your gut; listen to and take action on those flashes of insight or gnawings.

Oughtas: Allow yourself to be propelled by what you know needs to be done.

Nourishment: Add good fuel regularly: carry healthy snacks, hydrate frequently.

Sleep: Take power naps often, turn off your cell when you can, get 7-8 hours of shut-eye per night.

While we may not be able to control circumstances, we certainly can do a better job managing our emotions resulting from them. You’ll reap countless benefits if you do, including internal peace and sanity, and the ability to love and focus more fully.
